Wyndeham Group News > Wyndeham Wins Time and Newsweek Print Contract
26th June 2006
The Wyndeham Press Group is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the British Isles edition print contract for Time and Newsweek magazines. Wyndeham has secured a new three year deal with International Magazine Services, the Time Inc and Newsweek Inc joint venture which manages the magazines production and distribution throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Wyndeham Heron, the Group’s flagship web offset printer in Maldon, Essex will produce Time magazine which has a circulation of 142,000 copies per week and Newsweek with a circulation of 53,000. The production schedule involves editorial files supplied through Saturday night and Sunday morning which are manipulated and processed using Delano, Wyndeham Heron’s JDF based project management system which provides increased control and transparency throughout the production workflow. Time and Newsweek will be produced on Wyndeham Heron’s three Rotoman 32pp page presses, with the first copies leaving the factory at 11pm on Sunday nights and newsstand copies on sale first thing Monday morning.
“We awarded Wyndeham Heron the contract because of their ability to handle two very demanding print and distribution schedules and the fit of these weekly titles works well with their equipment and culture,” said Mike Taylor, Managing Director, International Magazine Services. “I’m confident that Wyndeham will deliver a first rate service to IMS and its clients.”
“Time and Newsweek are both high profile, international magazine brands and we are delighted to add them to Wyndeham’s growing magazine portfolio,” said Jon Hearnden, Group Sales Director, Wyndeham Press Group. “The versatility and flexibility of the Wyndeham Heron plant enables us to consistently deliver these time sensitive magazine titles.”
