Wyndeham Peterborough wins PrintWeek’s 2011 Catalogue Printer of the Year award

25th October 2011

Wyndeham Peterborough, part of Wyndeham Group, was named Catalogue Printer of the Year at the PrintWeek Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. This accolade for the 161-employee web offset printing company follows it being named Business Magazine Printer for an unprecedented two consecutive years in 2009 and 2010.

PrintWeek’s judges scored Wyndeham Peterborough highly across each of its four submissions, which one judge said “demonstrated a wide range of styles and a pro-active approach to production”.

However, it was the printing of the 500,000 copy Lands’ End catalogue that managed to separate it from the other five entrants. The 96pp plus 4pp cover product was printed on a 72pp manroland Lithoman IV web press and bound on a Kolbus KM412C perfect binder. The catalogue was also the first to be awarded with The Royal Mail’s sustainable mailing rate because of Wyndeham Peterborough’s ISO14001 environmental accreditation.

Andy Redhead, Customer Service Manager of Wyndeham Peterborough, who collected the award, said: “Our brief from Land’s End was to reduce costs and minimise the production schedule without compromising quality - and that is exactly what we did. This award demonstrates our ability to deliver industry-leading and consistent manufacturing excellence.”
