News > Wyndeham Impact produces Country Life festive cover
9 December 2009
Country Life, the quintessentially English magazine, is counting down to Christmas with its unique advent calendar cover - the only cover of its kind on a UK weekly magazine.
The calendar cover was launched on the 25 November issue of the magazine, which is set to delight readers throughout Advent and instantly become a special collector's edition of the magazine. The special cover was produced at Wyndeham Impact, the web offset cover printer in Basingstoke, on one of its three specialist cover presses which are fitted with in-line UV varnishing.
Celebrating the excitement of Christmas for children, the special front cover features The Toyshop Window with 24 windows die-cut directly into the cover – a process introduced to Country Life for the first time in 2007 and before then never seen on a UK weekly magazine.
Mark Hedges, editor of Country Life editor, said: “We had fantastic feedback on our first ever advent calendar cover and it quickly became an issue we – and our readers – look forward to each year.
John Crouch, sales director of Wyndeham Impact, said “We were delighted once again to be asked to produce this special festive cover for Country Life and IPC are very happy with the finished product.”
