New Managing Director for Wyndeham Print Direct

Wyndeham Press Group Plc, the UK specialist magazines, commercial literature and direct mail print group, today announced the appointment of Ian Mackintosh, formerly General Manager at Vertis Direct Marketing Services (Leicester), as new Managing Director of Wyndeham Print Direct. The appointment is due to Alan Hodgson, the current Managing Director, departing the company after seventeen years to spend more time with his family.

Mr Hodgson is one of the original directors of Wyndeham Print Direct which was founded in 1987 and acquired by the Wyndeham Press Group in 2000. “Alan has been fundamental to the establishment of Wyndeham Print Direct as one of the UK’s leading producers of continuous direct mail stationery. We are sorry to see him leave but fully understand his reason,” said Paul Utting, Group Managing Director.

Mr Mackintosh has been General Manager at Vertis Direct Mail Services (Leicester) since February 2001 with responsibility for the print and personalisation at the Wigston site and the enclosing house at Bardon. Prior to Vertis, Mr Mackintosh was Production Director at AssiDoman Sacks in Aylesford, Site Manager for Wiggins Teape Envelopes and Factory Manager for Spicers (Now John Dickinson) at Sawston Cambs.

“Ian’s appointment sees the start of a new era at Wyndeham Print Direct and with the recent addition of a new ten colour press in the factory he joins at a very exciting time in the company’s development,” continued Utting. “Ian has a wealth of experience in the direct mail sector and his leadership will be invaluable in further developing the business.”

Mr Mackintosh commented: “I am delighted to be joining Wyndeham and to be given the opportunity to build on the excellent Wyndeham Print Direct business and drive the company forward.”

Mr Mackintosh will join Wyndeham Print Direct on conclusion of his notice period at Vertis. Mr Hodgson will stay with the company until then to ensure a smooth transition.
